Can you believe that Les Miles was almost out of a job after a 9-3 finish to the year? Well, at LSU, the standards are extremely high and you can bet some are getting a little sick of having one of the most talented teams in the SEC and never winning the title. Fact of the matter is, Miles is one of the top coaches around, and it was wise for LSU to bring him back.

The Tigers are set up to have a much more successful 2016 season with Leonard Fournette returning as a serious Heisman contender and the quarterback situation with Brandon Harris still somewhat comforting. Although Harris isn’t an elite gunslinger, he gets the job done.

Fournette finished his sophomore year with an impressive 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns while Harris passed for 2,165 yards and 13 scores.

Leading receiver Malachi Dupre will be back as well. He caught a team-high 43 passes for 698 yards and six touchdowns. Travin Dural was injured to finish the year, but he’s going to be back as the team’s second-leading receiver for his senior campaign.

Not to mention the fact that LSU has the No. 4 incoming recruiting class thanks to Miles. If there’s one thing that Miles excels in, it’s recruiting. He’s constantly bringing in the nation’s top prospects and this year’s class could turn LSU from the nation’s No. 20 team into a top 10 squad.
