High Value SG

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Detroit Pistons (5,800): KCP has quickly become a go-to option in this high value SG spot in my DraftKings daily picks since he has been so productive lately while helping shoulder some of the point guard responsibilities due to Reggie Jackson’s bronchitis.  Caldwell-Pope had eight assists as a result on Saturday and finished with 27.5 fantasy points. He has at least 25 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games including back-to-back games last week with over 35 fantasy points. Tonight, KCP will have to deal with Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the Milwaukee wings, but he should be able to get his own production since the Bucks have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.

Evan Turner-Boston Celtics (5,500): Turner seems to always step up against his former team when the Celtics play the Sixers, and last night was no exception.  He finished with 37.25 fantasy points in Phily last night with 17 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.  He has stepped into the starting lineup the last two games for Boston, and if he keeps getting 30+ minutes in the absence of Jae Crowder, he’ll be a good play again tonight against the Magic who like to go small-ball and run the floor like Boston.  Expect plenty of points tonight, and Turner should get his while also helping cool off Victor Oladipo.

Avery Bradley-Boston Celtics (5,000): Bradley broke out for 20 points last night in Phily adding four steals and four assists for a total of 41.25 fantasy points. He’ll need to step up his defense tonight on the red-hot Victor Oladipo, but he did average 15 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 assists in his three meetings with Orlando earlier this season.  With Crowder out, Boston could definitely use more offense like last night’s from Bradley, so let’s see if he can step up again tonight against the Magic who could be worn out in the second night of their back-to-back.

Hollis Thompson-Philadelphia 76ers (4,400): Thompson had another solid game last night against Boston scoring 18 points in his 32 minutes and finishing with 23.2 fantasy points. He has at least 21 fantasy points in four straight games and eight of his last nine, and he continues to get plenty of playing time while Robert Covington is out. Covington’s return may be as early as Wednesday, but Thompson is still with starting tonight against the Pacers since he’ll log plenty of minutes and only costs just over 4K.

Tim Hardaway Jr.-Atlanta Hawks (3,800): Hardaway got a spot start on Thursday and made the most of it dropping 21 points against the Nuggets. He returned to his bench role on Saturday against Houston but still scored 20 points in 20 minutes finishing with 30.25 fantasy points after an impressive 38.75 in his start.  Hardaway Jr. has definitely offered Atlanta some badly-needed scoring punch, so he should keep getting run in the offense.  He’s still a risky play since this production came out of nowhere, but he’s in a good matchup tonight against the Wizards making him a fascinating flier.
