3. Ole Miss beat Alabama the last two years, they could easily do it again this season.

Although Ole Miss lost one of the best receivers in the nation to the draft, Laquon Treadwell, Chad Kelly is still in Mississippi. Not only has Ole Miss emerged suddenly as an SEC West contender in the past couple of years, Kelly has emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, if not the nation. After beating Alabama away last season and at home the season before that, the Rebels look for three straight against the Tide and hope they can finish the job this year again.

The goal of an SEC West team is to beat Alabama every year. If a team does that, it opens the door for a trip to the SEC Championship. Ole Miss did it last season. Although somewhat lucky, the Rebels gave the Tide their only loss of the season. If they hadn’t given up one of the plays of the season to Arkansas in overtime, Ole Miss would have been in the SEC Championship Game.

This year they will look to not only beat Alabama, behind their quarterback’s strong arm and rushing ability, but they will look to maintain their composure to reach the SEC Championship. It is not out of the question for the Rebels to beat the Tide three times in a row. The Rebels need to find a go-to receiver, though. Damore’ea Stringfellow could step into this role, or it may be someone else on the roster. Whomever it is, they need to find a go-to pass-catching threat for Kelly if they want to crash ‘Bama’s three-peat bid.
