5. Grayson Allen strikes again

Duke has made the Sweet 16 yet again and despite not having the most talented team during his tenure, Mike Krzyzewski has to be happy with how the Blue Devils are performing.

Although the Blue Devils have survived a couple of scares so far, that’s the name of the game and this Duke team can beat just about anyone with guys like Grayson Allen and Brandon Ingram playing well.

Allen, though, has a habit of making boneheaded plays which give him a bad name. For instance, he has been caught tripping ACC opponents on purpose twice this season and that looks to have carried over to the tourney.

In this play, it looks like he purposely tripped Yale’s Makai Mason in signature Grayson Allen style:

Taking care of business after a close first half against UNC Wilmington, Duke found a way to extend the lead late and never look back. In round two, the Blue Devils took on the task of eliminating Cinderella-worthy Ivy League program, Yale.

The Bulldogs found themselves down by about 30 points and time was ticking away on their season and improbable run, leading to a first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. However, a mammoth comeback was in the works and the Blue Devils weren’t ready for Yale in the second half.

Duke’s huge lead was cut to just four and then the Blue Devils closed the door to advance to the Sweet 16. Luckily, Allen’s trip didn’t come back to bite Duke.
