High Salary SF

Kevin Durant-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,700): Durant has at least 45 fantasy points in each of his last three games and in eight of his last ten contests.  He posted a monster 65.6 fantasy points against the Pacers on Saturday with 33 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.  Durant did suffer a minor elbow injury in that game, and as a result, he missed Monday’s practice.  There was reportedly no structural damage, but it’s worth double-checking his status before locking him in to your lineup tonight.  As long as he does play, Durant is in a spot for another monster game against the Rockets who allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF. Durant averaged 31 points, eight rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks in their two previous meetings this season, and he should be ready to go off tonight as long as his elbow injury doesn’t limit him.

Nicolas Batum-Charlotte Hornets (8,000): Batum didn’t have a huge game against the Spurs which is to be expected when going toe-to-toe with “The Klaw.” He did play 35 minutes and finish with 25.7 fantasy points on 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Before that game, though, Batum had at least 38 fantasy points in five of his previous six games and he should be set to light up the Nets tonight who have allowed more fantasy points to opposing SF in their last five games than any other team in the NBA. In a matchup that suits him much better tonight, look for more “Boom-boom” from Batum tonight. My only slight hesitation with him is that his price is a little over what I’d like to pay for his production.

Matt Barnes-Memphis Grizzlies (6,400): Barnes returned from his one-game suspension last night in Phoenix and played 35 minutes finishing with 12 points nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal for a total of 29.3 fantasy points. He has at least 29 fantasy points in each of his last three games and in five of his last eight. He showed just how volatile his offensive game can be against the Lakers at the end of February when he racked up 25 points against them in one game and two days later missed every shot he attempted and finished with zero points. He has been relatively stable since assuming a bigger role in the Memphis attack due to injuries, but he’s still a boom-or-bust play in the late game tonight.
