4. New Orleans Saints

Don’t outright dismiss the idea, but Colin Kaepernick on the New Orleans Saints could work, if he is unable to find somewhere that he can start right away. Such a prospect may have seemed laughable to him at one point, but the lack of interest from anyone around the league may make him realize learning behind a pro isn’t a bad idea.

Anyone who watched the Saints last season saw that quarterback Drew Brees is nearing his last leg. He started missing games due to injury and struggled at times on the field. There were definitely flashes of the exciting Brees we all know, but the decline due to his age could be right around the corner.

With the Saints, the 28-year old could pick the brain of the veteran Super Bowl winner and transition into a starting role in a year or two once Brees hangs it up. The main reason for such a set up would be the prospect of working with head coach Sean Payton.

Payton’s vertical passing game would fit right into what Kaepernick does best, throw the ball deep. His big arm would be utilized to perfection, while Payton could also put the quick legs of his to work as well.

This move is also probably not incredibly likely, but it’s worth considering for both sides.
