High Value SF

Evan Turner-Boston Celtics (5,900): Turner has started the last three games for Boston and should be on the floor again tonight against the Raptors as the C’s look to continue to fight for playoff seeding.  Turner has at least 23 fantasy points in each of his last three games including a very nice 35.8 fantasy points against his former team the 76ers on Sunday.  Tonight, he’ll be in a tougher matchup with the Raptors, but he is enough of a multi-category contributor that I expect another solid game from him since the Raptors are still piecing things together at their own SF spot while waiting for DeMarre Carroll to return (if he ever does). Turner has a ton of upside, but the matchup makes him a little high-risk at just under 6K.

Trevor Ariza-Houston Rockets (5,800): Ariza didn’t have a good shooting night last night going just 5-18 from the field and 3-12 from distance.  He still played 40 minutes, though, and was able to finish with 13 points, three steals, eight rebounds, and four assists for over 30 fantasy points. He has at least 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he’s one of the Rockets who gets shots when James Harden becomes more of a passer like he did last night.  Tonight against the Jazz, Harden may be forced to do the same which would make Ariza a pick with a ton of upside especially if he shoots anywhere close to his season averages.

Otto Porter-Washington Wizards (5,100): After injury slowed him down for a chunk of the season, Porter looks to be back to his promising form having scored double-digit points in six straight games with at least 23 fantasy points in each of those contests.  He had 38.5 fantasy points on Monday against the Hawks with a very nice 16-point, ten-board double-double.  Even though he may not reach that level in the rematch with Atlanta tonight, he is a very nice play at just over 5K and is back to playing big minutes in the Washington rotation.

Michael Beasley-Houston Rockets (4,800): Beasley was disappointing last night with only 16.3 fantasy points against the Thunder scoring only 11 points in his 16 minutes. on the bright side, Beasley took a ton of shots once again hitting 5-12 from the field. Even when he plays under 20 minutes, he gets enough shots in the air to give him solid fantasy potential, and if things break his way he has the potential for much more as he reminded us with 30 points and nine rebounds on Saturday against the Hawks. Beasley had at least 26 fantasy points in four straight before last night’s down game, and I think he’ll bounce back tonight against Utah even though it’s not a matchup I especially love for him.

Thabo Sefolosha-Atlanta Hawks (4,200): If you have to go cheaper with your SF pick, Sefolosha is worth a look as he faces the Wizards for the second consecutive game.  He has been playing solid minutes for Atlanta lately and has at least 21 fantasy points in five of his last six games.  He had 32.3 fantasy points against the Rockets last Saturday with ten points, five assists, five steals, and four rebounds. He has enough upside to make him a good play against the Wizards who have struggled to defend opposing SF all season. If Sefolosha plays over 25 minutes again tonight, I expect at least 25 fantasy points from him which is a very nice number to get for just 4.2K.
