High Salary PF

Draymond Green-Golden State Warriors (8,300): Green picked up the scoring on Monday when the “Splash Brothers” where having trouble finding their range.  He finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and three steals on his way to 51.8 fantasy points. Green has at least 31 fantasy points in eight straight games and has the potential to go for 50 fantasy points again tonight in a nice matchup against the Clippers. In his three games against the Clips this season, Green is averaging 15.7 points, eight assists, 7.3 rebounds, and a steal. He had a triple-double against them right after the All Star break with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists, and his recent form is good enough to make that a realistic possibility again tonight as he and the Warriors come back home to continue their pursuit of history.

Dirk Nowitzki-Dallas Mavericks (8,000): Dirk is definitely feeling the playoff push and knows how important each game is to get his Mavs to a good spot in the postseason.  He has stepped things up in a bit way lately with at least 39 fantasy points in six of his last eight contests. He scored 40 points on the Blazers on Sunday, and he’ll look to attack the same mismatches tonight in Portland.  I don’t expect him to match his 57.6 fantasy points from Sunday’s game, but he has had a few days off and should be fresh enough to continue his strong urn of performances as the season winds down.

LaMarcus Aldridge (7,900): Aldridge had 38.9 fantasy points on Monday with another double-double against Charlotte as he continues to emerge as the Spurs’ go-to option on offense.  Aldridge has at least 38 fantasy points in six of his last eight games and will look to keep his own strong stretch run rolling tonight against Miami. He had 28 points the first time the Spurs met the Heat this season, and he’s again in a place to succeed tonight as the Spurs come home.

Derrick Favors-Utah Jazz (7,300): Favors is in a great matchup tonight against the Rockets who allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF and who are playing for the second night in a row.  Favors has only played in one of the Jazz previous meetings with the Rockets this season and had 19 points and 12 boards to go with three blocks and two steals in that meeting. He has been playing well lately averaging 19 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks over his last five games including three contests with at least 30 fantasy points during that stretch. Throughout the season, Favors has been a boom-or-bust play who goes off in good matchups.  This appears to be one of those nights, so he’s a PF option I like a lot tonight. ∗∗

Gorgui Dieng-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,400): Another good matchup to take a look at tonight is Gorgui Dieng of the Timberwolves as he faces the Kings who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF this season and could also be without DeMarcus Cousins (questionable). Dieng had a down game against Golden State due to their small-ball lineups, but he had over 32 fantasy points in the four games before that. He should be able to return to that level tonight as he continues his strong, balanced, defense-heavy production.

Tobias Haris-Detroit Pistons (6,000): Harris gets his revenge game tonight against the Magic who shipped him to the Motor City at the trading deadline.  Harris has thrived with his new team and could be in for a monster game tonight if the Pistons make a point of feeding him the ball against his former teammates.  He hasn’t reached 30 fantasy points in five of his last six games, so there is definitely some risk in rolling Harris out tonight, but his possible extra motivation gives him some attractive upside.
