High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,800): The big name to own tonight at  PG is no surprise since Westbrook is the most expensive option on the board tonight but also has been one of the most consistent options in DFS for the season.  Westbrook is coming into this game off of three straight triple-doubles including a monster game on Tuesday against Houston when he had 21 points, 15 assists, and 13 rebounds for 57.1 fantasy points. With Kevin Durant nursing a sore elbow, Westbrook become the go-to option in the Thunder attack, and he rose to the challenge with a huge game. Westbrook has at least 41 fantasy points in five straight games with three games of at least 54 fantasy points. He has averaged 23 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in his three games this year against tonight’s opponent, the Jazz, although all three of those games were before the Jazz acquired Shelvin Mack who is their current starting PG. The Jazz have been really good against opposing PG lately allowing the fewest fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG by over five points per game. However, I think Westbrook is matchup proof and should be ready to give another big game tonight even if a fourth triple-double isn’t in the works.

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (8,900): Lillard and the Blazers picked up the win last night to earn a split of their home-and-home with the Mavericks. Lillard had 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists for a solid 42.2 fantasy points but could have had an even bigger point total if not for an uncharacteristic seven turnovers.  Lillard has at least 35 fantasy points in four straight contests and is trying to carry his team to the playoffs.  He’s had limited success against Chris Paul this year, but I think he’ll keep the Blazers rolling as they head to LA tonight.

Derrick Rose-Chicago Bulls (6,700):  Rose had 21 points last night against the Knicks and totaled 30.6 fantasy points thanks to three rebounds and four assists.  He has at least 28 fantasy points in three straight contests and is back to playing over 30 minutes a night.  He should be able to attack his good matchup against the Knicks’ guards again tonight, so look for another solid game for Rose even if Jimmy Butler’s presence in the backcourt next to him keeps him from going off.

Shelvin Mack-Utah Jazz (6,300): Mack didn’t have a huge game last night in Houston finishing with 16 points, three assists, two steals, two rebounds, and six turnovers. The Jazz were able to get a nice win on the road, and now they head to OKC where they’ll face the Thunder who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Mack should be able to thrive against Westbrook on offense and he’ll be a good play again tonight as he continues to break out since being acquired by Utah at the trading deadline. ∗∗
