3. Sacramento Kings

Just because Rondo is a free agent doesn’t mean that he won’t return to his current team. The Sacramento Kings have improved this season, and they have a great trio of players in Rondo, DeMarcus Cousins, and Rudy Gay. The trio may not have totaled as many wins as they would have liked this season, but they are heading in the right direction.

With the Kings this season, Rondo is averaging 11.8 points, 11.7 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game. It has been a great season for Rondo in Sacramento, and he may very well want to stay. Cousins is one of the best young players in the NBA, and he can keep his head on straight, he will be poised for greatness in the NBA. It will also be hard for Rondo to find a better player to play alongside than Cousins in free agency. There are some downsides to staying in Sacramento, as they aren’t the most stable franchise in recent years with coaching changes and constant trades, but the combination of Rondo and Cousins has made them a very entertaining team to watch this season.

Rondo will certainly look to be entertained by other teams this offseason, but staying in Sacramento wouldn’t be a bad option for Rondo, as he has saved his image there after the disaster in Dallas.
