#16 – American Airlines Arena – Miami Heat

The Name: This is one of two NBA arenas sponsored by American Airlines, and one of four sponsored by air travel. It’s not bad – in fact it has some boss alliteration going for it – but otherwise this has no pull. I hope that American Airlines can sponsor all 29 NBA arenas someday. 5/10

The Aesthetics: The most badass color combo in sports is red and black, and the Heat are among the best at using it. As a result, going to a game as an away fan at the Triple-A has the feeling of taking a journey with Dante and Virgil to the pit of hell. As a Heat fan, it’s the same except you get to be the Devil.

The Experience: Going to a Miami Heat game means that you are set to have a good time, from the location right in downtown Miami to the fan base that is still electrifying in the post-LeBron era now that the fluff is gone. There’s also easy access to parking, and perhaps the best food of any NBA arena.

Overview: This is an ideal experience for the casual fan and should be the perfect if you don’t care at all about the outcome of the game.
