#11 – AT&T Center – San Antonio Spurs

The Name: There is nothing special aesthetically about this name, and that definitely fits the Spurs. The only things beautiful about the Spurs are …

a) their play on the court
b) and the gorgeous face of Boris Diaw.

Otherwise, it’s all efficiency. Why even mention the name of the arena? Change “the Spurs are playing at the AT&T Center” to just “the Spurs are playing”. Or say nothing. 5/10

The Aesthetics: The center court “spur” logo, measuring out 25′ x 20′, is actually to scale for the largest spur in human history, worn by a South-Central cowboy with a severe case of gout. To be fair, this is a fine place to watch a basketball game; there are good seats and no distractions from the action.

The Experience: The AT&T Center has easy accessibility, relatively cheap food, and a fan base that is simultaneously passionate and not annoying. The arena won’t leave an indelible impression, but it’s almost a guarantee that the game will be an enjoyable venture.

Overview: The AT&T Center is not the attraction; it is a mere canvas for the game itself. Go for the Spurs.
