High Value SG

Avery Bradley-Boston Celtics (5,700): Bradley battled through illness to play on Saturday and ended up with 15 points in 32 minutes against the Suns.  He has at least 22 fantasy points in each of his last five games and is a solid option to consider tonight against the Clippers who he scored 18 against earlier this season.  He has scored at least 15 points in each of his last four, so he’s staying involved in the Boston offense as they continue to cover for the absence of Jae Crowder.

Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (5,000): Hood has filled his role nicely in the last few games for the Jazz, but his numbers haven’t been spectacular with Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors doing most of the heavy lifting on offense. Hood has reached double-digit scoring in four of his last five games and has 21 fantasy points or more in five of his last nine.  He is in a great matchup to attack tonight as he faces the Lakers who have allowed more fantasy points to opposing SG than any team in the NBA.  Hood should get god looks tonight, and he has the potential to go off if he finds his rhythm from beyond the arc.

Tony Allen-Memphis Grizzlies (4,800): Allen has been helping to pick up the slack for the injury-riddled Grizzlies, and he had a string of four straight games with at least 23 fantasy points before being held to just 16.9 fantasy points last week in San Antonio.  Tonight, he’ll face the Spurs again, but the Spurs aren’t bringing their starters to Memphis for tonight’s contest.  Allen should fare better in tonight’s matchup and is a nice buy at under 5K.

Wesley Matthews-Dallas Mavericks (4,400): Matthews has at least 12 points in each of his last four games and has added his usual n0n-scoring contributions to get to at least 20 fantasy points in each of those four contests. Matthews takes on the Nuggets tonight who allow the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.  If Deron Williams is still out, Matthews should get plenty of shots, but either way the Mavs need him to step up since they’re dealing with numerous injuries at this point in the season while trying to make a playoff push.

Jonathon Simmons-San Antonio Spurs (3,600): Simmons has played 20 and 29 minutes since being recalled to San Antonio to help them cover for all their resting starters.  He had 17 points, an assist, a rebound, and a steal on Saturday in Oklahoma City to finish with 21.7 fantasy points. The Grizzlies are a good matchup for the Spurs second unit tonight, so Simmons should again be looked to as a scoring option early and often tonight in Memphis. He’s high-risk since its hard to predict exactly who will step up from the backups that play when Coach Pop rests his starters.
