Ohio State. Taylor Decker. 18. player. 46.
That sound you hear is Colts general manager Ryan Grigson dancing around the team’s facility at the prospect of being able to draft Taylor Decker without moving up on the board. Indianapolis has been a disaster when it comes to protecting the team’s (massive) investment in Andrew Luck, and while they probably have a bigger need on the interior of the offensive line, it makes all of the sense in the world to spend a pick on a versatile and talented player like Decker.

For me, Decker is clearly fourth in this class among offensive tackle prospects, but he is still worthy of this slot. He is a physical player that could start at right tackle immediately for the Colts, and if necessary, Decker possesses the skills to become an elite guard in the NFL as well.

Indianapolis does have a variety of needs, thanks in part to their “stars and scrubs” approach in free agency, but the offensive line is the biggest one. If Grigson throws yet another curve ball with his first round choice, though, look for the Colts to invest in a pass-rusher (Noah Spence? Leonard Floyd?) and it is never too aggressive to project Grigson to fall in love with another wide receiver.

Just kidding (I think).
. OT
