No. 5 – Toronto Blue Jays

In 2015, the last team remaining north of the border was one of the final four teams left in the postseason, finding themselves on the losing end of the American League Championship Series to the eventual World Series Champion Kansas City Royals.

In the lineup, the Toronto Blue Jays return maybe the best one-two duo of batters in the league as MVP Josh Donaldson gets backed up by maybe the American League’s most feared hitter, Jose Bautista. They aren’t the only big bats in the lineup, though. Those stars are surrounded by Troy Tulowitzki  at the top of the order and Edwin Encarnacion in the cleanup spot.

It’s a good thing they have all those run producers, because the pitching staff is going to take a hit now that David Price has left for Boston. To get Price into their rotation in the middle of their 2015 season, the Blue Jays traded some of their top prospects, which leaves them vulnerable.

Marcus Stroman will be at the top of the rotation. He will be the key man when it comes to ensuring the Blue Jay’s offense isn’t undermined by weak pitching. If Stroman and the rest of the rotation hold up, Toronto could be back in the Fall Classic for the first time since 1993.
