Here’s a preview of the NL West in 2016, a division that has produced the most World Series champions over the last six seasons.

If there is one division in Major League Baseball that has been the Jekyll and Hyde group of the entire league, it is the NL West. Over the past six seasons, the division has produced three World Series championships… all of them won by the San Francisco Giants. Meanwhile, longtime rival Los Angeles Dodgers have been spending money like it’s going out of style and having some success, winning the division last season before getting knocked out of the playoffs by the New York Mets.

Then, there is the rest of the division. The combination of the Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres have combined to win just one division title in the last nine seasons and have seemed to get comfortable in the role of being in the backseat when it comes to the NL West.

As the 2016 season gets closer, it doesn’t seem on paper that there will be much difference in those roles when the five teams take the field and play the games for real. But, you never know…and that’s why they play the games. So, here’s a preview of what the NL West has in store this season.
