26. Curtis Enis, RB, Chicago Bears

After excelling at for Penn State from 1995-1997, Enis appeared in only 36 NFL games before calling it a career.

Enis wasted no time adjusting to life with the Nittany Lions following a noteworthy high school career, putting together a solid freshman season. He then developed into one of the most productive running backs in the nation, topping 1,000 yards in each of the next two seasons while accounting for 34 total touchdowns.

In 1997, Enis rushed for 1,363 yards with 19 touchdowns, was named a consensus All-American and finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting. Enis was the top running back heading into the 1998 draft, and one of the best overall prospects behind Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf.

With a need at the position, the Bears selected Enis fifth overall. Enis held out for the majority of training camp and made just one start before tearing a ligament in his left knee.

The Bears cut Enis following the 2000 season, and he retired the next year due to those left knee injuries. Enis finished his career with 456 rushing attempts for 1,497 yards and four touchdowns.

Like with so many other NFL players, fans were left to wonder what could have been if Enis had stayed healthy out of college.
