Chicago Blackhawks – Marian Hossa

The Chicago Blackhawks have a plethora of players who will likely see future enshrinement in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Center Jonathan Toews is the closest thing this generation has to Mark Messier. Wing Patrick Kane could go down as the most decorated  player born in the United States to play in the NHL. Defenseman Duncan Keith is an annual Norris Trophy candidate. Head coach Joel Quenneville has an extremely strong case. But none of them can top the resume that wing Marian Hossa has.

Hossa has amassed some impressive numbers over his 18 season career. As of March 30, he has played in 1,235 NHL games and has 1,088 points. For someone who is often given more of a defensive role, that’s impressive. He has the unique distinction of playing in three consecutive Stanley Cup finals with each appearance being on a different team. Hossa has produced in the playoffs with 144 points in 194 career playoff games and has played a huge role in the Blackhawks three Stanley Cups during his tenure.

His adjusted points total gives him a solid case. With 1,209 adjusted points, he ranks 38th all-time. That’s enough to warrant a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame even if he retired right now. Hossa’s Hall of Fame case will get stronger as he begins playing against people who weren’t born in 1997-1998 (his first season in the NHL).
