High Value SF

Luol Deng-Miami Heat (5,900): Deng has played well in his four games since missing last Wednesday’s matchup with Aldridge and the Spurs due to a thigh bruise.  In each of his four games back, Deng has played over 31 minutes and has production at least 39 fantasy points in two of those outings.  With Dwyane Wade possibly out again tonight, Deng will need to help carry the offensive load against the Blazers, and his move to the stretch-four spot since the Heat acquired Joe Johnson has allowed him to pick up his non-scoring numbers enough to make him a low-risk option tonight.

Marcus Morris-Detroit Pistons (5,300): Morris had a huge game last night in Detroit’s tough loss to Dallas.  Morris played 40 minutes and totaled 62.5 fantasy points on 31 points, 12 boards, and four assists. He has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games and in five of his last eight.  He has at least 25 fantasy points in each of his last six games including over 37 in each of his last two.  Tonight, Morris and the Pistons face the Bulls in a critical Eastern Conference matchup.  Expect him to log big minutes again as he faces Chicago for the fourth time this season.  In his previous three matchups with the Bulls, he has averaged 21.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

Al-Farouq Aminu-Portland Trail Blazers (4,800): Another SF who has stepped up for his team in a playoff hunt has been Aminu who dropped 28 points on the Celtics on Thursday finishing with 51.25 fantasy points since he added in nine boards and three blocks. Aminu has at least 31 fantasy points in four of his last five, though, so it wasn’t a total fluke.  He struggled with his offensive game for much of the season but has scored in double-digits in five of his last six games, and he’ll look to step up again tonight as the Blazers try to beat the Heat. ∗∗

Maurice Harkless-Portland Trail Blazers (3,900): Harkless continues to get starts at PF for the Blazers and should match up well against the Heat who don’t have a ton of size up front with Chris Bosh out.  Harkless has at least 23 fantasy points in four of his five games since moving to the starting lineup, but his minutes are still uncertain since the Blazers are using a rotation up front including Ed Davis and  Noah Vonleh at the PF spot. Harkless is a solid play if you have to go cheap, but he doesn’t have quite the upside as the other SF in this section.
