High Salary C

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,700): Whiteside was a disappointment last night against the Kings totaling just 28.6 fantasy points in his 30 minutes on six points, 13 boards, and three blocks.  He has coming off three straight games of at least 40 fantasy points against the Magic, Nets, and Lakers and had a great March overall averaging 18.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks in his 30.7 minutes per game.  Whiteside will look to bounce back tonight in a good matchup against the Blazers who have struggled to defend opposing centers all season.  When the Blazers visited Miami earlier this season, Whiteside had 22 points, 11 boards, and five blocks against them, and I expect a similar output tonight from the Miami big man.

Andre Drummond-Detroit Pistons (8,100): Drummond will be the other popular option at center tonight as he and the Pistons face the Bulls. Drummond has absolutely feasted on Chicago so far this season averaging 22 points and 19 rebounds in his three games against them while adding 1.7 blocks, 2.0 steals, and 1.7 assists.  He had 33 points and 21 rebounds against them before fouling out in the crazy quadruple-overtime game back in December, but all his games against them have been solid nights of production. Drummond is a great play again tonight even though it’s a back-to-back since he only logged 35 minutes last night against Dallas.

Jonas Valanciunas-Toronto Raptors (6,000): Valanciunas had a huge game last night against the Grizzlies going for 47.8 fantasy points on 11 points, 14 boards, and seven blocks.  He has at least 30 fantasy points in four of his last five and is a great value at still just 6K.  The only downside to “Big V” tonight is that he’s in a brutal matchup against the Spurs who defend opposing centers very well especially on their home floor where they’ll face Valanciunas tonight.
