Chicago Bears mock draft: Complete 7-round edition
One team is going to benefit from the injury that Kendall Fuller suffered during his junior season in 2015 and that might just end up being the Bears. Fuller has been projected anywhere from the Bears’ first round pick to the middle of the second round.
Had Fuller stayed healthy during his junior season, he would have probably been considered the top cornerback in the draft. Based on his potential, he might still end up being the most successful pro cornerback in the 2016 class, but he will have to prove that the torn meniscus that kept him out for all but three games won’t affect his mobility.
Coming from one of the more athletic football families out there, Kendall has an older brother already playing cornerback for the Bears, Kyle Fuller. The two could combine as a shutdown brotherly duo and really start something great in the Windy City.
Fuller isn’t exactly a raw talent, though. The junior started two-plus seasons for the Virginia Tech Hokies and was a second-team All-American in 2014 as well as a first-team All-ACC cornerback.
In his last full season at Virginia Tech in 2014, Fuller recorded 54 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions and 17 pass breakups. If he’s there in the second round when the Bears are selecting, they need to jump at this opportunity.
