Goaltenders

Jake Allen – St. Louis Blues ($7,700): Allen is a great start tonight as he and the Blues take on the Avalanche. The Blues are playing very well lately and the Avalanche are not, meaning that Allen has a favorable matchup. He hasn’t done well against the Blues this season (0-1-1 record with a 2.97 GAA), so he is a bit of a risk. Allen averages 4.7 fantasy hockey points per game.

Semyon Varlamov – Colorado Avalanche ($8,100): Varlamov is a great fantasy goalie, but probably not for the reason that he wishes to be one. He might not get as many wins recently as he has deserved (though his 27-22-3 record certainly isn’t bad), but he has stopped a ton of shots, making him a strong fantasy option. Varlamov has a .930 save percentage over his last 10 games. He’s a solid start today because he has dominated the Blues (3-0-1 record with a 1.97 GAA). Varlamov averages 4.5 fantasy hockey points per game.

Steve Mason – Philadelphia Flyers ($7,900): Mason could be the best value in the net on DraftKings today as he and the Flyers take on the Penguins. While the Penguins have been scorching hot recently, Mason has been on fire as well. He has a .931 save percentage over his last 10 games. If he starts today (he started on Saturday), he’s a great option. Stay tuned to make sure that he starts. It’s likely that he will since the Flyers probably don’t want to have Ray Emery face the Penguins. Mason averages 4.5 fantasy hockey points per game (including 5.6 per game over his last 10 games).

Devan Dubnyk – Minnesota Wild ($8,200): Dubnyk has proven himself to be a very capable starting goaltender this season. Last year was not a fluke as Dubnyk has a 32-25-6 record, a 2.39 GAA, and a .917 save percentage. Considering the rough stretch that he had in January and February, not too shabby. Over his last 10 games, Dubnyk has a .924 save percentage and has allowed only 20 goals. He averages 4.4 fantasy hockey points per game.
