The 2015-16 Phoenix Suns were easily one of the worst teams in the NBA. After point guards Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight got hurt, small forward Markieff Morris turned on head coach Jeff Hornacek and now they’re both gone from the Valley of the Sun.

While interim head coach Earl Watson may have a future as an NBA head coach in the long-term, really the Suns have just a small handful of young players to get excited about including guard Devin Booker and big man Alex Len.

With the Suns needing really any help they can get in 2016-17 and beyond, it may be wise for Phoenix to go with the Villanova sharpshooter in Jenkins with a second round pick. While Phoenix is at a bare bones point with their roster, it might make the most sense for them to go with a up-tempo, high-volume shooting offense to get the ball rolling in the next era of Suns basketball.

Jenkins would fit right in with Booker, Bledsoe, and Knight in the Phoenix backcourt. While Phoenix will probably be one of the three worst teams in the Western Conference again in 2016-17, at least Jenkins will have plenty of opportunities to get ample playing time to hopefully round into a solid professional. Playing time and a potentially respectable backcourt makes Phoenix a realistic landing spot for the Wildcats’ Final Four hero.
