As of Monday, nobody is more beloved in the City of Brotherly Love than Villanova sharp shooter Jenkins. Regardless of what he does going forward, Philadelphia will hold Jenkins in as high of regard as say Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt.

With the Philadelphia 76ers being easily the worst team in the NBA, prominently featuring a roster of basically D-League players, could it be all that farfetched that the 76ers end up drafting their city’s Final Four hero in Jenkins in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft?

With Philadelphia always needing bodies to put on the hardwood, Jenkins will get to play a ton for head coach Brett Brown in this massive rebuilding project the 76ers are undertaking. The 76ers are a bit behind schedule in their rebuild, but if they can nab a sharpshooter in Jenkins to stay in Philly, that might bring a few more fans into the seats on what already feels like another 60+ loss season for the 76ers in 2016-17.

Even though Philadelphia struggles to compete on the hardwood most nights, they have some good basketball minds in their organization like Brown, assistant coach Mike D’Antoni, and executive Jerry Colangelo. Playing for the 76ers is almost a can’t lose scenario for Jenkins. For a team that rarely wins, he’ll come out of his Philadelphia basketball experience okay.

From 2016 National Champion to perennial Eastern Conference doormat, all Jenkins has to do is stay in Philadelphia. For Jenkins, it will always be sunny in the City of Brotherly Love.
