High Salary C

DeMarcus Cousins-Sacramento Kings (10,800): Boogie is expected to be back in action tonight against the Blazers since he has been ruled out for the team’s remaining road contests but expects to play at home. He has been excellent when he has played lately with 60 fantasy points in his last game against the Wizards last Wednesday. If he does play tonight, he’s in a great matchup against the Blazers who struggle defending opposing big men. He’s a big investment, so make sure he’s actually going to lace them up tonight, but if he does play he has the potential to go off and carry your team to victory almost single-handedly.

Karl-Anthony Towns-Minnesota Timberwolves (8,900): Towns played a massive 44 minutes on Sunday against the Mavs and posted 51.7 fantasy points on 11 points, 21 rebounds, nine assists, and three blocks.  He has at least 44 fantasy points in five of his last nine games coming down the stretch and ended ups tim 40.2 fantasy points against the Warriors when he faced them two weeks ago. My only concern with Towns tonight is that I’m not sure Minnesota can keep the game competitive and if he plays fewer minutes he could be an over-priced center tonight.

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (8,600): Whiteside continues to come off the bench for Miami, but it’s hard to argue with his elite-level production despite his inconsistent minutes sometimes.  Whiteside has at least 41 fantasy points in five of his last seven games and Miami will look to him tonight to help them slow down Andre Drummond and the Pistons down low.  Whiteside has averaged 18.6 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game over his last ten and has similar stats in his two games against the Pistons averaging 15.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks.

Pau Gasol-Chicago Bulls (8,400): Gasol is trying to help Jimmy Butler drag the Bulls to the playoffs and he’s in a good matchup tonight against the injury-ravaged Grizzlies in Memphis.  Gasol had 16 points, eight boards, and eight assists on Sunday in Milwaukee for his third game in his last five with at least 40 fantasy points. He should be able to get around that number again tonight in a good matchup where his team will again need him to step up. ∗∗

Jonas Valanciunas-Toronto Raptors (6,200): Big V has been stepping up for the Raptors since returning from an injury scare a couple weeks ago.  Valanciunas has scored in double-digits in each of the seven games since his return with at least 22 fantasy points in each of those contests and at least 30 in four of his last six. He should be a good play tonight against the Hornets as long as the Raptors play their stars tonight which I think they will since they’ll be at home in a game against a potential playoff opponent.
