I know what you’re probably saying, “Not another first-round wide receiver pick,” but just hear me out. Laquon Treadwell has enough talent and potential to lessen the blow of losing Megatron and at the No. 16 overall pick in the draft, Detroit won’t get an elite offensive tackle, which is what they desire.

Treadwell is a well-structured target, standing 6-foot-2, 210 pounds. He was a highly touted prospect out of high school and proved his dominance at the collegiate level with Ole Miss. It wasn’t until his junior season that he really broke out as a superstar.

The Ole Miss star has a long and athletic frame and is widely considered the top wide receiver prospect in the draft. Many have already compared him to a No. 1 receiver like Dez Bryant and he surely has the skill set.

Coming off a leg injury as a sophomore, Treadwell entered his junior season with high expectations and he met them. He caught 82 passes for 1,183 yards and 11 touchdowns, finishing his three-year Ole Miss career with 202 receptions for 2,393 yards and 21 scores.

The Lions have made a few first-round gaffes in the wide receiver department in years past with guys like Mike Williams and Charles Rogers, but Treadwell would be in the success category.
