Entering the 2015 season, the Green Bay Packers’ offensive line consisting of David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton, Corey Linsley, T.J. Lang and Bryan Bulaga was expected to dominate opposing defensive fronts.

Oozing with talent, the unit possessed the ability to overpower teams in the running game, as well as the footwork and pass-blocking ability necessary for Aaron Rodgers to pick apart secondaries with ease. By the end of the season, this group was a shell of its former self.

Injuries decimated the Packers’ starting offensive, reserves failed to step up and Rodgers’ production took a noticeable hit. If this were not enough of a reason to target the offensive line in the upcoming draft, that Sitton, Lang, Bakhtiari and center J.C. Tretter are all entering contract years is.

The prospect of potentially losing Bakhtiari to free agency next year creates a need for depth at the tackle slot and North Dakota State’s Joe Haeg would be a solid addition at the position.

The former walk-on was a four-year starter, four-time FCS national champion and two-time first team All-American with the Bison. His impressive agility, vision and strength are just a few of the traits that make the 6-foot-6, 304-pound tackle one of the top offensive line prospects projected to be selected in the middle rounds.

Haeg must improve his technique to become a reliable option at the next level, particularly his hand placement. If he does, he has the tools necessary to become an anchor on the offensive line for years to come.
