Isn’t cornerback priority No. 1 for the Jaguars entering the 2016 NFL Draft. Yes, and very much so, but unless Jacksonville is fortunate to nab Florida State’s Ramsey at No. 5 or is willing to trade back a bit to get either Hargreaves, Houston’s William Jackson, III, or Clemson’s Mackensie Alexander, it may end up serving the Jaguars more to aggressively build their pass rush with the Buckner and Floyd selections than to target a second-tier cornerback.

In essence, Jacksonville’s corners will look better if the Jaguars’ improved pass rush in 2016 can appropriately get after the quarterback. So with that in mind, it makes sense for Jacksonville to use its fifth round pick on a player from an elite secondary school in LSU’s Rashard Robinson.

Sure off the field issues brought Robinson’s collegiate career to a close before it really got started. He was suspended by head coach Les Miles indefinitely after the 2014 Music City Bowl in Nashville. However, if Jacksonville is willing to take a chance on Robinson, they might have found the ball hawk they crave to put in Bradley’s secondary.

Scouts are very weary of all the red flags off the field, but Robinson is said to play in coverage very smoothly, loves to rip the ball out of receivers hands, and does have above average cover skills. With a bottom-feeding franchise like the Jaguars have been for most of the last decade, sometimes a front office has to take a chance on a guy with questionable character that does have good football upside. Robinson if he pans out could be a huge sleeper for the Jaguars’ gain in the secondary.
