NFL – Dallas Cowboys (1992-1995)

There are plenty of people in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who would like to disagree with this since the New England Patriots won three titles in a four-year period, but it was America’s Team who have the best era during the last quarter century.

Just three years after suffering a 1-15 season under then-first year head coach Jimmy Johnson, the Cowboys had everything going in their direction when they won their first Super Bowl in nearly a decade and a half with a 52-17 blowout victory over the Buffalo Bills.

The two teams would meet again the following season, with the Cowboys again coming out on top. The 1994 season is when Dallas would take a slight step back, losing to the rival San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

In 1995, Barry Switzer was able to join the group of coaches who had won titles both in college and the pros when Dallas again went back to the Super Bowl and came out on top, this time defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s hard to argue that this wasn’t just the best era over the last 25 years, but maybe the best dynasty in the history of the league.
