College Football – Alabama Crimson Tide (2009-2012)

The last quarter century has been really good for the sport of college football, as it has become more popular than ever before nationally and plenty of schools can lay claim to being the best over the last 25 years (including Nebraska, Ohio State, Florida State, USC and Florida).

For the Crimson Tide, the hiring of Nick Saban as head coach has made the program the cream of the crop. It started with a blowout win over the Texas Longhorns in the BCS championship game played inside the iconic Rose Bowl stadium.

After a 2010 season that saw them “only” get to a New Year’s Day bowl game, Alabama got back into the swing of things when it came to winning a national title by both shutting out conference foe LSU and blowing out another traditional power, Notre Dame.

The Crimson Tide haven’t stopped their hunt for national championships and got the 16th in program history this year in an epic game against the Clemson Tigers. We don’t know if this year’s victory will be the start of another great dynasty run, but Saban and his team have already proven they were the best of the best and will forever be called the top team over the last 25 years.
