23. player. 125.
Coming into the season, Florida State’s Malik Beasley figured to play second fiddle to fellow freshman Dwayne Bacon in Tallahassee. After a strong first year, though, Beasley’s youth (he’s 19) and efficient scoring (he shot 47.1 percent from the field this season) make him look like the better NBA prospect. As the secondary option for his team, Beasley finished the season averaging 20.9 points per 40 minutes and posted good outside shooting numbers, making 38.7 percent of his 142 three-point attempts as a freshman.

Beasley isn’t great at breaking down opponents off the dribble, but as a secondary option, he’s more than capable of scoring off the catch in the half court or in transition. The 19 year old has good quickness and plays aggressively on the defensive end where he posted reasonable steal numbers. He’s a strong rebounder for his size, averaging 7.1 boards per 40 minutes. Beasley needs to develop into a better distributor in order to become a more versatile offensive threat, but as of now his combination of efficient scoring and hustle is enough to be attractive to NBA teams with picks in the early 20s.
