77.
This pick has stayed constant for me throughout the mock draft process largely because it makes plenty of sense for the Clippers to find a backup center in the draft. UNLV’s Stephen Zimmerman won’t be ready to step into that role right away for Doc Rivers, but if Cole Alrich exercises his player option for next season, that won’t be as big of a problem, and Zimmerman will be able to develop, likely in the D-League.

Zimmerman needs to develop strength in order to compete with more physical players in the NBA, but his skill set shows promise. He’s a mobile big man who can handle the ball in transition after grabbing defensive boards, and is a skilled passer out of the post. Zimmerman averaged 16.0 points per 40 minutes as a secondary option on UNLV’s offense. He flashed the ability to step out beyond the three-point line, where he hit four of his 16 attempts as a freshman, but Zimmerman’s best work is currently done on the low block, where he can use a variety of post moves to score.

Zimmerman will take a year or two to develop, but if he lives up to his full potential, he could be a nice, late first round steal for the Clippers.
