No. 1 – Broncos love having drama surrounding their QB

Since John Elway hung up his shoulder pads after the 1998 season, the Broncos have had 13 starting quarterbacks take the field over the following 17 seasons. For non-math majors, that means the average time as a starting quarterback for Denver over that span has been just under 21 games, or roughly a 1.25 seasons.

Names like Danny Kanell, Jake Plummer, Jay Cutler and Kyle Orton started things off when it came to troubles in finding a franchise quarterback. It was followed by the controversy surrounding Tim Tebow and the love him/hate him approach depending on what Broncos fan you were talking too.

People forget the media circus that surrounded Peyton Manning when he finally decided to sign with the Broncos. It proves that Denver has no problem going after a quarterback who is going to be as much sideshow as he is signal caller.

Manziel’s partying in Las Vegas and doing whatever else he can in Colorado (where certain things are legal now) will be just a drop in the bucket over the past nearly two decades and nothing that the Broncos won’t know how to deal with.
