If the Houston Texans select a wide receiver with the 22nd overall pick in the first round, there is no need for them to target the position again in the draft. But depending on who is available with their final selection in the sixth round, it would not hurt to add depth as the team looks to stack Brock Osweiler with weapons on the outside.

DeAndre Hopkins is set to become a perennial Pro Bowler over the course of the next decade, and 2015 third round pick Jaelen Strong has a bright future despite an offseason arrest for marijuana possession. Outside of these two, though, the depth chart is wide open at the position. And in the sixth round, the Texans could add a player capable of emerging as a No. 4 option at receiver.

Illinois’ Geronimo Allison is not the most athletic wide receiver in the draft, but as a late-round selection, he presents teams with an opportunity to take a chance on a raw talent with plenty of room to grow.

Allison began his college career at Iowa Western Community College, and as a result did not receive much attention from NFL scouts until his senior season. He made the most of this final season in Champaign, Ill., leading the team with 65 receptions and 882 receiving yards in 2015.

At 6-foot-3 and with reliable hands to compliment his ideal physical frame, Allison has the ability to become a serious deep threat despite not possessing top-notch speed.
