While the Colts may have more pressing needs than at running back, they may end up finding a great deal of value by using their seventh round pick (No. 239) on Arkansas Razorbacks’ Jonathan Williams.

Williams did miss all of 2015 after succumbing to a foot injury in summer practice in Fayetteville, but he does come from a strong running back culture in place in Arkansas under Bielema’s tutelage. Williams was part of a triple-headed rushing attack in the SEC West for years, as the Hogs were able to right the ship on their program as early as 2014.

Given that Williams didn’t take the beating of a prototypical bell-cow back at Arkansas, if his foot injury heals and allows him to get back to full strength, Williams has the ability to potentially be a featured back in an NFL offense.

With finding running backs to place in an offense, it’s all about getting the most bang for the buck. Getting a starting tailback in Williams in the seventh round would be huge for any team that takes a chance on him and picks him in the last round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

At 5’11”, 220 pounds, Williams has the build and dexterity to potentially emerge as a dual-threat running back for the Colts, using the run to open up the pass for Luck, as well as be able to snag a few receptions from the star quarterback out of the Indianapolis backfield. This pick has sleeper written all over it for the Colts at No. 239.
