New Orleans Saints: 2016 7-round NFL mock draft
By John Buhler
The New Orleans Saints will have six picks in the 2016 NFL Draft to improve their roster. Here is the latest 2016 7-round NFL mock draft for the Saints.
The 2015 New Orleans Saints stumbled to a 7-9 record and a third-place finish in the respectable NFC South. While the Saints have hovered around .500 the last two seasons, New Orleans frankly is running out of time to build a contender around quarterback Drew Brees.
Head coach Sean Payton may stick with the Saints for the foreseeable future, but New Orleans certainly has some work to do in the 2016 NFL Draft to hopefully hold their own in the NFC next season. While the Saints have some solid picks in the top half of the draft (No. 12, No. 47, No. 78), New Orleans only has six selections to fill nine holes on their roster.
New Orleans does not have a sixth-round pick as part of a deal previously made with the NFC East’s Washington Redskins. Entering the 2016 NFL Draft, the Saints’ primary needs are at defensive tackle, cornerback, and outside linebacker. Their secondary draft needs include safety, guard, and running back. New Orleans tertiary draft needs are at inside linebacker, quarterback, and defensive end.
With the Saints’ strong draft positions particularly in the first three rounds, can New Orleans put together a much-needed and highly successful 2016 NFL Draft. Here is the latest 2016 NFL mock draft for the Saints.
