No. 2 – Los Angeles Lakers

We can safely say that what was once the proudest franchise in the league has become a laughing-stock this season. From a horrible record on the court to plenty of drama off of it (ranging from the retirement tour of Kobe Bryant to the “record-gate” incident between D’Angelo Russell and Nick Young), it’s time for a fresh start in L.A.

At the same time, the Lakers have made it clear that they are still going to be players in the free agent game this offseason and beyond. They have the money and are committed to turning things around. Step one would be to get rid of Byron Scott, who has a style of play that is not working for the team.

That’s not saying that Auriemma would immediately command the respect of those players and wouldn’t have to work to prove himself. Lakers fans demand success from their team and are not going to cut Auriemma any slack despite his double-digit title total he would bring from the college game. Still, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world…I mean, he can’t be worse as a coach than Scott has been, right?
