Jadeveon Clowney might finally be getting back to his college form, but the former South Carolina Gamecocks star has suffered his fair share of injuries over the past few years.

While still at South Carolina, Clowney was criticized heavily for “dogging it” during his junior season. Coming out of high school, he was ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect by just about every recruiting service and the potential for future No. 1 pick was there.

After playing in all 12 games as a freshman and then dominating as a sophomore, finishing his season with one of the most iconic hits in college football history against Michigan in the Outback Bowl, Clowney was a serious candidate for the Heisman Trophy as a defensive end in 2013.

That junior year, he faced his fair share of hate following some poor games to start the year in which it looked like he was taking plays off and going about 75 percent as if not to hurt himself before the 2014 NFL Draft. He was apparently weakened by a virus, and the Texans still took him No. 1.

The freakishly athletic defensive end/linebacker hybrid played in just four games his rookie year, having it cut short by concussion-like symptoms followed by a torn meniscus. He finished with just seven tackles and no sacks.

As stated earlier, he came back a bit in his second season in 2015, playing in 13 games and finishing with 40 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. He still hasn’t been healthy since 2012 and if he was, he might be a two-time Pro Bowler and Rookie of the Year.
