High Value SF

Al-Farouq Aminu-Portland Trail Blazers (5,700): Aminu has been on a tear lately and has been an increased part of Portland’s offense lately.  He had 27 points against the Thunder on Wednesday and added good non-scoring numbers to get to 48.7 fantasy points. He has at least 26 fantasy points in five of his last seven games including a pair of outbursts like Wednesday’s.  Aminu is still a little risky since his production can come and go, but he’s definitely emerging as an important part of Portland’s late-season playoff surge which has seen them rise to the fifth spot in the West.

P.J. Tucker-Phoenix Suns (5,500): Tucker laid an egg in Atlanta earlier this week being held scoreless for 32 minutes and finishing with just 10.6 fantasy points. Aside from that burn, though, he’s actually been very productive for the Suns lately with at least 27 fantasy points in four of his last five and three double-doubles during that stretch.  In his last game on Thursday, Tucker had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists against the Rockets for a solid 43.9 fantasy points. The Pelicans have struggled with defending opposing wings lately due to all their injuries, so Tucker should be set up for another successful night tonight in New Orleans.

Maurice Harkless-Portland Trail Blazers (5,400): Harkless has been really good since joining the Blazers starting lineup at PF and has found success alongside Aminu at the two forward spots.  Harkless had 34 fantasy points in his 28 minutes against OKC with 14 points, five boards, and four steals.  He has at least 24 fantasy points in each of his last five games which has caused his price to rise to over 5K, but he’s found another level in his last two contests with 34 fantasy points and 44.2 fantasy points in his last two outings. Harkless could be in a bit of a tricky matchup against the big front line of the T-Wolves, but he has shown he can produce in a wide variety of situations.

Luke Babbitt-New Orleans Pelicans (5,400): The other option int the 5,000’s getting plenty of playing time is Luke Babbitt who has scored at least 15 points in five straight games while averaging 18 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 0.6 steals in his 31.4 minutes per game.  Babbitt has at least 25 fantasy points in each of those five games including a huge 22-point, ten-rebound double-double against Denver.  The only concern I have with Babbitt is that he only played 24 minutes agains the Lakers last night and Jordan Hamilton is starting to steal some of his playing time.

Harrison Barnes-Golden State Warriors (4,900): As the Warriors approach the playoffs, Barnes is rounding into form and has at least 28 fantasy points in four of his last six games.  He has scored 20 and 21 points in his last two contests against the T-Wolves and Spurs, and I think he’ll be more active tonight as the Warriors look for opportunities to get Curry, Thompson, and maybe even Draymond some extra time on the bench.

Shabazz Muhammad-Minnesota Timberwolves (3,800): Muhammad has had a roller-coaster of a season with his playing time fluctuating all over the place.  He has scored at least ten points in five of his last six games including a 35-point outburst against the Warriors. He doesn’t produce a ton of non-scoring stats, so he’s extremely scoring-reliant, but he does have upside if you have to go ultra-cheap at SF.
