High Value PG

Shelvin Mack-Utah Jazz (5,200): The Jazz haven’ been able to put the #8 spot in the Western Conference away yet dropping a couple of games this week to the Clippers and Spurs.  However, the Houston Rockets haven’t been winning either, so the Jazz still have the inside track on facing the Warriors in the First Round of the playoffs.  Tonight, they’ll be in a much easier matchup as they face the Nuggets which could allow Mack to snap out of a bit of a scoring funk and return to a place of fantasy productivity.  Mack had at least 28 fantasy points in three straight games coming into the week but managed just 22.5 fantasy points agains the Spurs and 18 fantasy points against the Clippers.  Mack hasn’t faced the Nuggets since joining the Jazz as their starting PG, but Denver has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing PG on the season and the second-most in the NBA over their last five games.

D’Angelo Russell-Los Angeles Lakers (5,100): Russell had a big game of 40 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Friday scoring 32 points to go with two boards, two assists, and a steal.  He has the potential to go off on any given night, but he also is inconsistent and prone to duds.  He should be in for a solid afternoon contest against the Rockets, but he will have to deal with Patrick Beverley’s defense.

Patrick Beverley-Houston Rockets (4,900): Speaking of Beverley, he’s a pretty good play himself this afternoon against the Lakers who have been the worst team in the NBA against opposing fantasy PG.  Beverley has been putting together some nice games for Houston in the Rockets recent push for the playoffs and has at least nine points in five straight games while adding good non-scoring numbers as well to total 29 fantasy points or more in three of those five outings. Given his matchup and form, I like Beverley to put up a big game in a matchup the Rockets need to exploit this afternoon to put the pressure on Utah later in the day.

Shane Larkin-Brooklyn Nets (4,400): Larkin has passed out at least eight assists in five of his last seven games and each of his last three.  He only managed two points on Friday to get to 20.5 fantasy points, but he had over 27 fantasy points in three of his previous four games.  The Nets have had a rough year, but Larkin is one of the better cheap plays at PG tonight as they take on the Pacers who will be trying to clinch the playoffs with a win.

Tyler Ennis-Milwaukee Bucks (3,700): Ennis played 38 minutes on Friday against the Celtics and finished with an impressive 35.5 fantasy points on nine points, six rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals. As the Bucks wrap up their disappointing season, Ennis is getting plenty of playing time with injuries sidelining Michael Carter-Williams, O.J. Mayo, and Jerryd Bayless. Ennis has at least 23 fantasy points in four of his last six games with a pair of games over 33 fantasy points. Tonight, he gets a great matchup against the 76ers, so look for another big night from him if he keeps getting starters minutes.

Cory Joseph-Toronto Raptors (3,600): Joseph got the start in place of Kyle Lowry on Friday and turned in 35.25 fantasy points on 18 points and nine assists.  He has at least 20 fantasy points in three of his last four scoring double-digits in each of those three games.  Tonight, he’s tricky to evaluable since we don’t know if he’ll get starters’ minutes or just come off the bench against New York. He’s usable either way, but if he starts in place of Lowry again tonight, Joseph would be one of the better value picks of the night against a woeful Knicks’ backcourt defense. If starting-∗  not starting-
