4. Key Contributors
Part of what makes the Warriors so successful is that they are getting key contributions from all over the roster. It speaks to the depth that they have and the incredible job that the front office has done in assembling a roster that goes well beyond its stars.
Whether it’s Brandon Rush, Ian Clark, Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston or someone else, the Warriors have guys that come into a game at any time and step up and hit the big shots. For all the talk that there has been of adding another star to what the Warriors already have, the true strength of this team is the players that are around their stars.
When Iguodala went down for a while with an injury this season, it looked like it might be the crushing blow that ended the Warriors’ chance at making NBA history. Instead, other guys rallied together and played great basketball off the bench.
There have been nights where the starters have had to save a poor performance by the bench, but for the most part they have been one of the most consistent units in the league. They know their role, they’ve strengthened it and they can fit in any rotation that Steve Kerr throws out on the court. In the playoffs, they’re going to be ready when they are called upon.
