2. After the last two seasons, the Rangers are due

After years of watching other teams making long playoff runs, the New York Rangers have been the team spending the months of April and May playing hockey. After the last two years, you have to figure that the men in blue and red are finally due to bring home another championship.

Two years ago, the Rangers were the darlings of hockey. After an epic comeback against the Penguins, New York would make it back to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 20 seasons. In the first two games against the Los Angeles Kings, the Rangers lost in both overtime and double overtime to go down early. The series was over in another double overtime to end Game 5 and give the Kings another title.

Last season, the Rangers went the distance in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning before being shutout in Game 7 and losing the series. After two seasons of being so close they could taste the title, 2016 is finally the year where the Rangers are the ones that other teams are watching as they celebrate a title.
