This is an area that needs to be addressed in either the second or third round for the Chargers. They need somebody who can protect their quarterback, whether that is Phillip Rivers now, or another quarterback in the future.

Le’Raven Clark started all four years at Texas Tech, right guard freshman and left tackle for three years. He has all the physical attributes an NFL coach could look for in an offensive lineman. He is six five, 316 pounds and has quick feet. He can hold back a bull rush from a defensive lineman and slow down the quickest of cornerbacks coming off the edge.

Of course, in the NFL, there is always a learning curve. But Clark has shown that he can grow and learn quickly, after starting his freshman year for the Red Raiders. He started 51 games overall and earned All-Big 12 as well as second team All-American in his final season in Lubbock.

If Clark is still on the board by the time the Chargers are on the clock in the second round, they should take him. He has the intangibles to be a Pro Bowl offensive lineman for years to come, no matter who he is protecting.
