San Diego Chargers: Full 7-round mock draft
Eric Striker is a player who could be versatile for this Chargers defense. After leading Oklahoma to the College Football Playoff, he earned himself second team All-American and first team All Big-12. However, at the NFL level, his body size is pretty small for an outside linebacker. At 5-11, 227 pounds he would have to add weight, or he could be forced to move to a position like safety or be used solely on special teams.
Either way, he could add depth to this defense and could help in replacing the loss of Eric Weddle. With a 4.8 forty yard dash he has pretty good speed for a player his size and could also be a nice compliment to the bigger Manti Te’o if he is back and healthy for the whole season. Striker could add to this pass rush pretty effectively as well with his great instincts on how to get around blockers.
He would also add a fire to this team that seemed to be missing last season. He has proven he knows what it takes to win and he could help this Charger team get back to doing that.
