1. It is sports, so anything can happen

We have all watched some list, countdown, show whatever, that mentions the greatest upsets in sports history. If you were to tell someone the Mavericks were to beat the Thunder, Spurs, Warriors, and then the Cavaliers all in a row to win the 2016 NBA Finals, this team would be topping a lot of those lists.

However, that is the reason they make these lists right? No one had the eighth seed Warriors beating the one seed Mavericks in 2007. No one had the “Miracle on Ice” all planned out. Heck, no one even had the Warriors winning an NBA Finals if you flash back two years from this day. To sit and say that it is impossible for the Mavericks is just crazy when it comes to sports. Unlikely? Sure. Impossible? No way.

The reason we tune in every year is because no one truly knows what is going to happen. I think everyone should know the phrase “that is why you play the game” by now, and for a team with experience, a hall of fame coach and player, and a history of success, why count them out?
