81.
The Raptors have a massive potential hole on the wing if they lose Demar DeRozan this offseason, and Masai Ujiri hasn’t shown any inclination to shy away from international prospects. That they would opt for Luwawu with their pick they’ll receive from the New York Knicks or Denver Nuggets via pick swap is a definite possibility.

Luwawu has rocketed up draft boards this year, and for good reason. Spending most of last year in the French junior leagues, Luwawu hadn’t played with much audience before declaring for and ultimately withdrawing from the 2015 NBA Draft pool. He signed with Adriatic League start-up Mega Leks, and immediately became the face of the organization, averaging 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in his first taste of top-flight international basketball. He’s also been a human highlight reel, tearing the rim down and showcasing his elite athleticism and leaping ability.

Luwawu has struggled with efficiency, but he is hitting 37.2 percent from three this season, hinting at a potential as a catch-and-shoot weapon. He’s also incredible defensively when he’s engaged, with his 6’11” wingspan allowing him to post a steal rate of 2.9 and a block rate of 1.4. While he needs some fine-tuning, Luwawu definitely projects as a solid 3-and-D type, and his explosiveness could really help counteract a potential DeRozan departure for the Raptors this summer.

To learn more about Timothe Luwawu, click here.
.
