Where do the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors rank in the top five greatest NBA teams of all-time?

The Golden State Warriors have officially set the NBA record for most wins in a season with 73 after a 125-104 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. While they have etched their names in the record book for the most wins in a single season, is that enough for them to be considered the greatest NBA team of all-time? Are the Warriors better than the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls or the 1983 Philadelphia 76ers? Is Golden State better than the 1986 Boston Celtics or the 1987 Los Angeles Lakers?

While the Warriors can say that they won more regular season games than all of their teams, that isn’t all there is to defining a team’s legacy. Winning in the playoffs matters. Golden State proved in the playoffs last season that they can dominate in the postseason much like they did this season during the regular season. If the Warriors can’t defend their title, their 73 wins suddenly becomes much less impressive when you compare them to other teams that won in the Finals.

Are the Golden State Warriors the greatest NBA team of all-time? Let’s take a look. Here are the five greatest single season teams that the National Basketball Association has ever seen.
