1. They do not even know who they want yet

When the trade first broke speculation came from every which way debating who they were trading up for. Some said Wentz, some said Goff — apparently no one knew. According to Adam Schefter, even the Rams themselves have no idea who they are going to take.

How do you not know who you traded up for? That is basically saying that they just gambled their future, their depth and parts of their core on a game of eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Not a good business structure there, and it’s the very first question that needed to be answered — at least mildly — before trading away your future for this top pick.

There’s logic to acknowledge here, as the Rams believed in someone enough to trade for the No. 1 pick, and they met with him and they just could not get over it. That’s what happens when you strap the Draft Goggles on, you see things that can’t be unseen.

But with only two weeks until the draft, there is no new to tape, and there are no more interviews. To say who knows they’ll both be good so at least now we get one just seems a little bit backwards, and when you act spontaneously like they apparently did, it usually comes back to bite you in the end.
