Darian Thompson – Free Safety – Boise State

If Thompson is still around come early round five, the Titans would benefit from picking him up. They need talent and depth at the safety position. He played all four years at Boise and set the record in the Mountain West Conference for career interceptions at 19.

He has great size for a free safety at six two, 208 pounds. He fills his frame out very well. Thompson is a student of the game. He spend a lot of time in the film room and because of that he has good instincts and recognizes the offenses tendencies well. He needs to work on his pursuit skills as far as angles down field and in run support.

But he has the characteristics to be a great leader in the future. Nobody has to tell him to step up and lead. This is great for the Titans secondary, who is lacking that talent and leadership. He would be a great addition and if he is still on the board when it’s Tennessee’s pick, they would be smart to pick him up.
