Tennessee Titans: 7-round mock draft
D.J. Pettway – Defensive End – Alabama
Pettway is a risk because he had problems in college, was kicked out of Alabama and then went back before he came to the draft. He was a rotational player for the Tide, but even a kid in the rotation for the Tide could be solid in the NFL. Their entire line is loaded with talent and Pettway could fare well in the league if he stays out of trouble.
At six two, 265 pounds, Pettway has pretty good size and is tough to move for offensive linemen. He might not come in and have an immediate effect for the Titans, but he could add depth and come in every now and then to rush the passer. He has pretty good technique with a swim move and can knock down passes at the line of scrimmage. If nothing else, he can make plays trying to block field goals for the Titans.
Although he is pretty big, he doesn’t bull anyone around that much and comes with a risk factor that he could bring trouble. The Titans need help on the defensive line, though, and Pettway could be a good compliment for them.
